CLANK

A sound of metal brought you back from darkness. You didn’t remember what happened in the last few minutes. Were you sleeping? No, you’re not. You were standing right now and you breathed heavily like when you were afraid. But now, what were you afraid of? You looked around. You were in your shared flat. You shared this flat with your mean sister. Well, not real sister since you weren’t blood related to her.

You looked at the stove... oh, you were making something earlier. It’s just food, so why were you dizzy? You sniffed and something really reeked of iron.  It was near, you knew that, but where was it coming from?

Suddenly, something grabbed your foot weakly, making you jumped. You looked down and what you saw surprised you. The one who weakly grabbed your foot was your dying sister. Her body was bloody and fresh blood still pouring from her body. You screamed hysterically at the view and fell backward. When you fell, your hand hit something and you whipped your head to look at it… A knife covered with blood and so did your hands.  Now you remember everything.

Today was like previous days. You stayed at home, waiting for your sister to come home. When you knew that she would be arrived soon, you started to cook. When she arrived home, she directly found you and looked at what you were doing. You began to tremble as she was close to you. She then left you to finish your cooking and went upstairs. When the food was ready, she went to the kitchen again, tasting the food before both of you eat. When she tasted it, she wore a face of disgust.

Your sister, who had forced you long ago to live with her, threw the food to the floor and scolded you. She stood and pushed you hard to the counter. You weren’t ready so your body received her power completely. Not only did your body sore from hitting the counter, but also your head hit the corner of the top shelf. Then your sister did it again… She beat you with anything she had in her hand just like other days. You felt pain and your eyes darted everywhere, looking for hiding place or at least something to defend you. When you laid your eyes on a knife on a chopping board, everything went dark.

You had slashed her right in her stomach and she fell to the ground half dead.

You screamed again and you felt something moving around your foot. It was your sister fingers, still struggling to be alive, but not in a minute, her fingers froze and her hand fell to the floor. Her eyes were opened wide and they were staring at you. You crawled backward until your foot was freed. Seeing her lifeless body made you scared. You didn’t want anyone suddenly barge in and found the scene. You stood and ran to the door, slammed it open and ran to the road.

You ran and ran. You wanted to run from your sister, run from the police, run from guilt…

When you saw that the road was not that empty from people, you turned left to an alley then you kept running. You didn’t care if your feet were injured by the small rocks along the way. All you could think right now, was to run. However, your legs felt tired and your fell to the ground, kneeling. Soon after, the sky started to grumbled, pouring its tears to the earth.

You leaned on a wall beside you and looked at your hands. The rain washed the blood and you wanted to thank it for this. You didn’t have any power to stand again and your head hurt from earlier.

You sighed, didn’t know what to do, when a voice came.

“Aiyaa…”

~ Someone else’s POV ~

I sighed, everything was so boring. I walked through a district of shops, just some of them still opened. “Can this world be more boring…?” I said to myself.

When I passed the district, I could see someone running from opposite side. If my eyes were correct, it was a woman and she ran rather fast. Her figure was so pretty despite her messy appearance. I saw her turned to an alley. “At last, something interesting…” I smirked and followed her to the alley.

I silently followed her and something was becoming clearer, stink of blood. She ran and ran, like being chased by someone. The sky grumbled and rain poured, but I ignored it. I saw her fell to the ground and was really weak. I scanned her quick before I approached her.

“Aiyaa…”

I bent and looked at her face, so pretty. I thought she was surprised with my voice. She tried to stand using her hand but ended falling to the ground. I saw her eyes closed and I smiled. I pick her up and went to my house…

~ normal POV ~

You slowly opened your eyes but shut them quickly when the sunlight hit your eyes. You felt really comfortable in anything you were in now. You tried to open your eyes again and looked at the ceiling. You weren’t familiar with it. You looked around you. It was definitely not your house. The room was mainly red and dark brown or black. You touched your head, it was bandaged.

When you were perplexed of what had happened, the door was opened, revealing a man. You turn your face to see the man. He was wearing red clothing with matching red cap. His hair was black and short and his eyes were glowing red… something you never seen before.

“Ah, you’re awake?” his voice was not that low, but not that high either.

He approached you and sat on the side of the bed. “What’s your name?” he suddenly asked.

“(n-name)” you stuttered.

He then pressed his hand on you injured head, resulting a groan from you. He removed his hand and smiled at you. You were confused of why he did that. Did he not see that your head was wounded?

“Sit.” He said briefly.

You didn’t really hear him and gave him a confused look. He suddenly pulled you to sit position and pecked you near your lips. It happened before you could think of anything. You blushed real red, competing with the room’s painting now. He just smirked at your reaction. “I’m Wang Yang… and considering you, you may call me Yang…” he said.

Now that you learnt his name, you want to ask what happened. But before you did, your stomach had growled first. You looked down, face red. It was too embarrassing! You were starving. Yang chuckled and stood. He walked to the door and you stopped him, “Wait!”

“What is it?” he asked sharply.

“Uh… Uh- I can’t walk…” you pointed at your feet, which were bandaged too.

He tapped his chin and grinned. He approached you and suddenly picked you up bridal style. You yelped in surprised. “There’s no other way…” he told you. He brought you downstairs to his kitchen and sat you on a chair. He went to cook something and served it to you.

When you had your first bite, it tasted delicious. You began to eat more until finished. When you were finished, you saw yang was staring at you. He rested his chin on his hand. You blushed again and mumbled ‘thank you’. He seemed to hear you and smiled again.

Silence came until he started, “Where do you live?”

His sentence always short but get to the point. You thought for a while, what you should tell him? You shook your head and said, “I.. don’t have anywhere to live…” you lied, but it was actually half lie. You didn’t want to go back to that hell with your sister. He was silent for a moment then replied, “I welcome you here then.”

You looked at him, didn’t believe what he just said. He accepted you here. When you want to speak again, someone knocked or hit his front door hard and loud. You jumped as you were surprised. Yang growled and stood, “I’m going for a while, be nice, don’t mess with my house.”

He walked pass you to the door. You popped your head from the kitchen to see who it was. In front of Yang were more than two people. You could see one with bright pink hair and another with bloody baseball bat. You trembled when you saw them, they looked scary. They talked about something, but what you could hear was only Yang’s voice.

“Oh, so it’s them again?”

“Okay, let’s have some fun anyways.”

With that Yang went with that group of people.

Your feet began to hurt again but you forced yourself to walk upstairs. As you walk, you could smell blood. Your hands. Ihave to wash it

~ time skip ~

It had been five days since you were accepted in Yang’s house. He gave you a room and treated you nicely although sometimes he could be creepy. However, living here was nicer than living with your sister. Yang didn’t beat you, he just warned you when you made mistakes. Yang’s voice was kind towards you not like your sister. He was so nice that you felt guilty as time passed.

It was like you were using him. To give you protection, to give you food, to give you something you wanted. For these five days, you couldn’t sleep soundly for you were afraid the police would find you. If the police did so, you would be jailed and Yang would be involved. Oh, you didn’t want that. Therefore, you wanted to run from his house to somewhere no one recognized you. You wanted to be free for the least even though you knew you would never be free from your guilt.

“Maybe I should do it today…” you whispered. “The sooner the better…”

So today, tonight you would run from this house, hoping that Yang wouldn’t get involved with your case. This was your burden and your fault alone.

~ time skip ~

You opened your eyes, it was midnight already. You crawled out from the bed and looked outside. The moon was shining fully and it was really quiet. One thing that didn’t go with your plan was that earlier this day, Yang went with his friends again and you didn’t know when he would return. So you decided to use the window instead of the front door. You set everything and went down slowly and carefully. When you reach the land, you proudly smiled, so far so good…

You tiptoed to the front of his house but then something stopped you. A figure stood there under the full moon. You could clearly recognized him by the moonlight, it was Yang. Crap.

“Where are you going, (name)?” it was the first time he called your name ever since you introduced yourself. You knew he was going serious.

“I- I uh…” you couldn’t find any words.

He approached you with dark aura surround him, “Well, don’t lie to me or you’ll face the consequences.” He said that with scary voice. You shivered.

Faintly, you could hear police cars from a far. Your eyes wide, you got to do this fast. But how?

You gulped and said, “I- I want to escape.”

“From me? Do you think you can?” he asked.

“Not from you, but from—“ you couldn’t finish it as police cars surrounded the house.

The police drew their guns and pointed it at you. You froze. Your plan was ruined. Now you didn’t have other choice than to surrender. You looked at Yang who was on your front right. His face showed shock and you knew why. He didn’t know anything about your case… he’s innocent, you thought. You wore a sad face and was about to lift your hands up as a sign of surrender when Yang suddenly threw something to the air. Before the thing landed, he rushed to you and covered you nose and mouth with his hand. You were surprised when he did that.

When the thing touched the ground, it exploded and large amount of smoke came out mixing with the air. You couldn’t inhale that as Yang covered you, but the police who didn’t do that, collapsed to the ground one by one.

When the police were all dead, Yang threw something again and it cleared the smoke, making the air clean. He uncovered his hand from you after that. He turned you around before you could do anything and hugged you tight.

“Oh, (name), I won’t let you escape… I won’t let you go… for you are mine…” he said.

Hearing that, you didn’t know what to respond. He said that with scary voice yet it was full of feelings.

“But, Yang… I’m… a murderer…”

“That’s not the problem, dear (name). I won’t let them get you. You are mine alone…”

He hugged you tighter and you hugged him back. It felt like forever since you last had someone who accepted you. You lifted your head to see his face, smiling to you.

“You attract me to this boring world, (name).”
