“You look so wonderful, Your Highness,” said one girl.

“I agree. No one will beat your beauty,” said another.

‘Really?’ you thought as you saw yourself in a full body mirror in front of you. You were wearing a very light orange dress down to your toes, matching arm length gloves, and other matching accessories. It’s a very simple dress. No cleavage shown, no sparkles, no corset and easy to walk in. It’s a very simple dress for a princess in a kingdom. Yes, you were a princess, the only princess of the kingdom and today you were to fulfill an invitation from neighbor kingdom to strengthen the relationship between kingdoms. Your father, the king, chose you to be the ambassador as you were turning 19. He hoped that by sending you there, you might be interested in some princes from other kingdoms and countries as well. Your father demanded that you had your prince when you turn 20 as he was getting old.

You would be happier if your parent didn’t insist you on getting married. You liked balls and parties but not if it’s to find a husband. But now you couldn’t just deny the offer. You knew that your father was getting sick frequently and your mother died six years ago. It also made you think twice to refuse the offer.

Back to where you were. You turned left then right and turned your body around 360 degrees and look at your dressers. They smiled the widest smile they had and you just frowned by looking at them. They convinced you to be more confident and you were not really paying attention to what they were saying. “Now, Your Highness, I believe His Majesty, the king has waited for your presence in the audience room. May I escort you?” asked the first dresser.

You turned to face her and said, “No, thank you. I want sometime to be alone. I’ll be alright by myself.”

You walked to the door as carefully as you did not want to trip by your own dress. You closed the door behind you quietly then you started to head toward your room. It’s not that far but you have to descend and ascend some staircases, which you did easily. As you were walking, you also thought about what the other kingdom would be. Would it be full of more beautiful princesses than you were? Would you be interested in at least one man there to ease your father? Would you adapt? Would you be there safely? And your questions went on and on until you realized you were already in front of your room.

You opened it and what you saw the first time, was a picture of your beloved late mother, who was smiling as she looked at the door’s direction. Why was the picture there? Well, you demanded that thing six years ago after she was buried. You knew it would just make you sadder but you didn’t care. As for now, this picture of her was one of your encourager. When you were down you always spoke your mind to her as if she could listen to it and give you solutions. Today was the same.

“Greetings, mother…” you said as you close the door.

You huffed and began to collect your stuff as you speak, “Today… I’m going to (kingdom name)…” You walked beside your bed and bent to pull out a box under your bed, “I’m invited to their ball. It’s important to deepen our relationship so I have to go…” You lifted the box and sat on your bed and put the box on your lap, “Father also wants me to find a man. A kind, caring man for me, to be my partner to rule this kingdom…” You blew the dust a bit and reached the lock “I don’t know if I will find one, but I’ll try my best not to shame our kingdom… and…” You opened the box in which a beautiful silver sword rested. Your eyes now stared at the sword, “And I hope my journey will be fine this time.”

You sheathed the sword and connected it with a silver belt you had and put it around your waist. You then stood and walked to your mother’s picture and said, “I have to go now, mother. Wish me luck."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You arrived in front of a large tall door that separated you from the audience room. The guards opened it for you and you walked in. Your eyes quickly scaned the room and before you looked at your father’s eyes, something caught your eyes. Some distance in front of your father stood a man with messy blonde hair, dark blue cape, a sword on his waist and what you thought to be something a prince would wear. As you slowly approached your father, you noticed something else. Well… other than those big eyebrows, his emerald eyes were so beautiful. When you knew he’s also staring at you, you looked away from his gaze to your father.
“Good morning, father,” you said as you bow a bit.
“Good morning, (name) dear, are you ready for the invitation?” he asked.
“Yes, father. I’m ready.”
“Then, let me introduce you to Arthur Kirkland, who will guard you along your way to (kingdom name),” he said as he looks at the man whose name Arthur, “Arthur, this is my daughter, (name), the one whom you should protect whatever it costs.”
You changed your gaze to him and he approached you before he knelt, “I’m Arthur Kirkland, at your service, Your Highness.” He said as he lifted his head to face you and smiled. You felt your face heated up a bit. He was so handsome, you thought, but then he stood again to turn his body to face the king.
After some goodbyes and vows, you left the room along with Arthur who followed you behind. The trip to (kingdom name) was rather long that you had to leave in the morning and you would arrive afternoon there. As you stepped into the garden, three people called you. You whipped your head to the sounds; those were Alfred, Feliciano and Lovino, three of your kingdom’s lieutenants. They were closed to you ever since you asked them to teach you swordsmanship.
“Are you going now, bella?” Feli asked you. He was always cheerful as always.
“Yes, I’m going now.”
“Be careful out there, ragazza.” The one called Lovino said to you. He growled when the last one knocked him to the ground, “If anything happens, just call the Hero and I’ll be there!!”
The last one, Alfred, was always so loud and child-like, but he was the best with sword.
“Of course, Alfred. I will. Now, I have to go. Wish me luck.” You waved at them and walked to the carriage where a man helped you get in then Arthur also followed you and sat on the opposite side of yours. After everything’s done, the coach started the journey.
As your carriage left your kingdom, you sighed at the view of your castle. It was the first time for six years for you to leave your kingdom again. Of course you missed how it was to be outside but you also had some worry. You decided not to think about it and now you wanted to know more about your new knight. You glanced at him and saw that he was staring at you. He’s not staring directly at your eyes but he was definitely staring at you, is it my dress or what? You thought.
Feeling a bit offended, you told him, “Sorry, but it’s rude to stare like that,” you said rather aloud to snap him out of his mind. He was startled and gave you a quick apology. “It’s alright,” you said then you continued, “Uhm… may I ask what you’re staring at?”
He gave you a blank look and you just realized how stupid your question was. What? You wanted him to answer he was staring at your body or legs or… anything? Before you could cancel the question he replied, “That sword…”
“Pardon me?”
“I uh… I’m just wondering… why do you bring a sword? That’s not… something a princess has,” he said.
“O-oh… this… you can say… ummm… I have an interest in sword and alike,” you said, faking a smile.
He raised a brow and asked, “But you don’t have to bring it to another kingdom, do you?”
“I… have my own reason.” You uttered as you looked down. He apologized to you for asking that and the journey was filled with silence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Halfway until your arrival, nothing came up. You let your worries sank as you were relieved. But then, your carriage halted suddenly and made you flew to Arthur’s side. He caught you easily and set you down. “ENEMY ATTACK!!!” you heard the coach shouted then you heard him screamed in pain as if he was killed. Nothing happened on both sides but you could see blood trailed the ground. You were panic. Your coach was killed but the villain had yet to appear before you. You should flee right away before they kidnapped you along with the carriage.

When you want to reached the door of the carriage, Arthur stopped you from doing so and told you to stay still inside as he went outside and closed the door behind him. You wanted to follow him, but you were too scared. You closed your eyes tightly and wished it didn’t happen again.

~ Arthur’s POV ~

I left (name) inside the carriage in case of the worst happened. I skipped out from the carriage and shut the door. I drew my sword and looked around. The coach was lying on the ground, lifeless. I scanned around but spotted no one.

“Well, well. If it isn’t Arthur…”

A voice came from above. I looked at a tree nearby and spotted three people who were smirking at me. One by one they jumped to the ground and drew their weapons. “Long times no see, Arthur…” one of them said.

I just growled at them, they were the notorious Bad Touch Trio. “You three…” I hissed.
“What are you doing here, Arthur?” said the other one with white pale hair.

“I can ask you the same thing, you git.”

“We just want to have some fun…  it’s rare to see someone across this road,” a brunette said, smiling.

“Get out of the way, wankers.” I tried to be calm, but those three being in front of me is enough to make my blood boil with anger.

“Nope, we don’t want!” The albino said “Unless you give us ‘what’ inside that thing,” he pointed.

“There’s no way in hell!” I hissed again as I narrowed my eyes.

“Then we’ll take it by force,” the blonde said and charged at Arthur.

Arthur parried it but another one came, the brunette. “Back off, wanker!” I throw Francis to Antonio and jumped back. However, I couldn’t relax yet as Gilbert came from my side, “Feel my AWESOMENESS!!!” he yelled and threw knives at me. I parried two with my sword but other knives got me.

“Gil, set your eyes to the carriage!” Francis said as he fought one on one with me. He was an amateur to sword but with him cooperated with Antonio, it made them at the same level with me.

“Damn it!”

~ back to normal POV ~

You were scared. You heard metal sound hit each other from outside and you also heard Arthur cursing. It happened again, just like six years ago….

*flashback…

(name) was going outside, with her mother. It was the first time she went outside her kingdom. Today, women were invited to high class women association… or whatever it was called. (name)’s mother asked to join her, to experience something new. Of course (name) agreed right away.

On your way, just a little bit to the said location, a horde of burglars stopped your coach and also other coaches (name) met along the way. (name) was hidden under the seat as her mother was taken rudely by the burglars. Everything went so fast yet so slow for (name). The last thing she could remember from that day was when the troops from other kingdom saved her from beneath the seat.

…end*

That time, because you were powerless, you could not save your mother. Since then, you demanded to learn swordsmanship, even though your father absolutely disagreed. You didn’t listen to your father and hence had Alfred taught you. Later, Feliciano and Lovino joined.
Now, it was going to be different, you thought. You drew your sword and roughly opened the door. You jumped out the carriage and what you saw first was Arthur who was pinned down with sword to the ground.

“Arthur!” you shouted.

“Your highness, behind you!” Arthur screamed.

You quickly turned and set your sword to a knife. “Well, well, a fine lady never play with sword,” he said, grinning.

“What is it you want?” you asked calmly outside, but inside you were struggling to stand his power.

“Hmm... how about, we want you, sweetie~” he said and threw you to the ground. You yelped in pain but you didn’t lose your grip to your sword.

The one who threw you, the albino, bent in front of you and played with your (h/c) hair. “Just be quiet and you’ll be safe, princess.”

You grunted and with all your strength, you whipped you sword towards him. “Oops!” he moved backward but your sword hurt his neck a bit. “Wow,” he touched the wound, “I don’t expect you to be this awesome!”

You stood and held your sword tightly. As you gasped for air, you scanned the surrounding quickly and turned to Arthur to help him. The one with brown hair confronted you, leaving the blonde with Arthur. “Go away, git!!” Arthur said aloud as he kicked Francis away. He was indeed weak.

Arthur regained his position and knocked Francis out. After that, he saw you were having a hard time fighting Antonio and when he saw Toni striped your sword from your hand, Arthur came to the rescue.

You fell back to the ground as you saw the two was fighting and you forgot about another one just behind you. Gilbert used this chance to get you and halted the fight, “Stop it right there!”

That made both Arthur and Antonio looked at your way, but Arthur with his mouth gaped. “Move and this girl die,” Gil said as he pressed his knife to your neck. Your hands were held by his and you could not fight against his strength. “Oh, this will be much easier if I got her earlier~” Gil said. “Drop your weapon, Eyebrows. Now.” His eyes showed both anger and hatred to him.

Arthur could not resist and drop his sword to the ground. Francis who was just conscious, walked toward Gil and whispered something to Gil’s ear. Gilbert smirked and gave a signal to Toni. Toni suddenly kicked Arthur and he fell to the ground. “Arthur!” you shouted but the knife made it hard for you to even speak. “Shut up, woman,” Gil pressed his knife, making an opening for blood to flow.

Meanwhile, Toni approached and stomped on Arthur’s chest just to make him more painful. You narrowed your eyes, you could not stand seeing it but somehow you were still able to locked your eyes with Arthur, who was now smiling to you…

Your eyes widened. Why he smiled? And then you noticed that Toni was ready to stab Arthur to death as he lifted his sword above Arthur. No… no, no, no, no, no, no

Before you could think again you struggled from Gil’s grip on your wrist and successfully freed yourself, didn’t care of his knife which slashed your neck as you ran. Everything seemed to be in slow motion now… Running towards Arthur, Covering him with your body and the final was that Toni ‘accidentally’ stabbed you from your back.

Your eyes were wide. You didn’t even scream in pain because it was both sudden and extremely painful. “(NAME)!!!” You could hear Arthur screamed your name but you were too weak to respond. As Toni pulled his sword from your body, much more of your blood flew from your body to the Arthur’s body, to the ground. Getting weak from the blood loss, you fell to Arthur’s body and your eyelids were getting heavier.

The BTT retreated and ran away from the scene, leaving the two behind.

Arthur sat up, holding you with his arms. “(Name)!(Name)! Hang in there! Listen to my voice! (Name)!” he tried to make you stay awake. On the other side, you were getting weaker and weaker. Your eyelids became heavy and you started to see black spots… and… white wall… You were also sleepy for some reasons. The last thing you saw was something small shone so bright above you then everything went black.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You woke up on a fluffy bed. You slowly opened your eyes and looked at the ceiling. You knew where you were. It was your own room. How did you end up in this room? I thought… I was dead… you thought. You tried to sit but failed since your chest was still hurt and it was wrapped with bandage. You looked around you. On the small table beside your bed were a glass of water and some light food. You sighed and brought your hands to your hand pressing it against them. What about Arthur?
The answer came to you pretty quickly as your door opened and shut. You slowly turned your head and saw Arthur. You smiled at the view of him. Arthur looked at you and smiled his biggest smile as he ran to your bed’s side, “You’re awake, love!”
“Yes, I am… How… do we get back?” you asked weakly.
“Your soldiers came and brought us back. It’s fortunate that you didn’t lose your blood that much,” he explained.
“But… how did they know we were attacked?”
“Uhm… that…” he hesitated.
You put your palm to his cheek and asked again, “How?”
When you did that, Arthur’s face was really red, but he was lucky because the room’s lightning was dim. “I… don’t know how to tell you, love.”
“Why?”
“Because… Because you may not believe it,” he held you hand on his cheek and brought it down. He sat down on the side of your bed and said, “Uh… I.. I uh… I sent a fairy… to the kingdom, (name)…”
“A … Fairy?”
“Y-Yes…”
“Can I meet it?”
“If you can see… come here ,(f/n)” he said as he gestured something to come near him.
Suddenly, something small appeared and shone brightly beside him. You could see it and that made you surprised, “Is… that it?”
“Y-you could see it?”
“Yes… she’s shining brightly. Green, just like your eyes,” you said, smiling.
“Really, love?!” he suddenly spoke loudly, “It’s the first time someone can see them other than Romania!”
“Romania?”
“He’s my friend in this kingdom, one of your soldiers, but he has just entered the army. I sent the emergency to him and with that, the soldiers came to save us.”
“O-oh…”
When you want to fully face him, you winced because of the wound, that made Arthur’s face sad. Oh you didn’t want to see him sad like that. “I’m sorry…” he uttered.
“What for?”
“For that wound. Because of my incapability, you have to get that wound, Your Highness,” he went back to that formality again. You were really happy when he first called you by your name, and now he was sorry for your wound. “It’s alright, Arthur. It was my fault to interfere. It’s not your fault.”
“But-“
You shook your head slowly and continued, “Also, call me (name) again. I… I like you, Arthur.”
You could see him got even redder if he could. Meanwhile you were just smiling there, you were not blushing even a bit shade of red. “I… don’t know if it’s something you call ‘love’ or not, but you’re so kind and caring. I like that from you,” you smiled.
He gave you back a smile and said, “Then, I’ll wait until it becomes love, because I love you, (name).”
He stroked your cheek and told you to sleep so you were able to recover quickly.
“Sleep well, love.”
~ Extended? ~
“Oh oh is (name) okay?” said Alfred.
“I don’t know,” Feli frowned.
“That’s why we’re checking up on her, idiots!” replied Lovino.
When they wanted to knock the door, the door flung opened, revealing Arthur.
“Hey, Arthur! What are you doing here~?” the cheerful Feli asked.
“Just visiting…”
“Oh, your face goes all red!!” said Alfred almost loudly.
“Keep your voice down, you git!” he said as he smacked Al right on the head. “And that’s none of your business!!”
